Snow
While Nottingham ground to a halt my stroll into town was all the better for the snow. Ski goggles and proper boots makes all the difference! Unlike my fellow commuters who were skidding damply about.
I’m always amazed how poorly we cope with snow in the UK. Nottingham rarely gets any proper snow, with it’s lowland location, distance from the sea and concrete micro climate. Not like the stuff I used to encounter when I was growing up on the edge of the Peak district, eight foot drifts over the top of the dry stone walls, power cuts and jaw droppingly beautiful woods and forests. A far cry from slushy streets!
