Dog Is Dead
Nott’s hot tipped five piece Dog Is Dead kicked of their first album launch day and tour at a packed out Boat Club, which has seen the likes of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix back in the day.
Fingers crossed it’ll be the start of big things for them, if this evening is owt to go by there’s a very good chance. It sold out in a couple of hours.
I’ve been to a good number of their gigs since they kicked off on the Notts scene, nice to see them progressing under the wing of their big signing with Atlantic and I do like the ska and jazz influences.
Shooting the show was hot sweaty mayhem, complete with a good humoured teenage mosh pit, a lot of admiring girls and some football chant love – proper Notts style.
Lighting was of course terrible, it is basically a social club after all, I had the 5d cranked up to 6400 to get anything usable!
Looking forward to reading the review in LeftLion.
Dog Is Dead played the Boat Club on October 8th 2012, All Our Favourite Stories is out now on Atlantic.
